A Time to Reflect

We are officially 6 months into farming and about to wrap up the 2019 year! The end of the year provides for a time of reflection as we contemplate decisions made in caring for the property and the possibilities it holds in the future. Ultimately, our hope is to embrace every moment and to allow for the serenity of the property to bring joy to our community.

Our pumpkin patch, which was really intended to 'test the waters,' turned out to be a huge success - we welcomed approximately 250 people to the grand opening alone! The strong turn-out and kind words were both humbling and encouraging. We're already planning for next year's pumpkin patch.

Improvements for next year :
- We'll add a variety of new pumpkins
- We'll also grow decorative gourds
- We plan to upgrade our irrigation system
- We learned we need to rotate our pumpkins to allow for more uniform growth

At the conclusion of the season we pledged to donate the proceeds from our roadside stand to the Wounded Warrior Project. We're thankful to share that we were able to donate $500. We plan to continue making charitable donations at the closing of each season.

Baby Colin is expected to join us in December, so we will probably take a short break during the months of January and February. We plan on kicking off the spring with fresh produce and flowers at our roadside stand.

As always, thank you so much for choosing to learn and grow with us!
